Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

This wonderfully written second book in the Nevermoor series is full of surprising plot twists and astonishing discoveries. We meet Morrigan Crow once again, now part of Unit 919, now going to school at the Wondrous Society. She’s earned what she most wanted, a family of brothers and sisters, loyal for life. However, when it is announced to her unit that she is a Wundersmith, everyone looks at and behaves differently around her. Then Unit 919 starts getting secret letters to do complicated tasks or else the letter writers will reveal the secret of 919. Will Morrigan Crow finally get what she most wants — a family — or will this new threat ruin her life?

I loved this magical sequel, whose plot twists made me gasp at every chapter. The vivid descriptions of the Wundrous Society and Nevermoor gave me a passage into Morrigan’s world.

But when she begs her father to let her go to Bid Day, she gets 4 bids and she accepts one to go be part of the Wundrous Society. Morrigan has to pass 4 trials in order to become a part of the society. I really love this book because it is an adventure and has lots of magic. I give it a five out of five stars!
