Royal Institute of Magic: Elizabeth’s Legacy by Victor Kloss

In this book we meet teenagers Ben, Charlie, and Michael. In the first chapter, Michael is being told a great but dangerous secret by Queen Elizabeth. Then we fast forward to current day, for Charlie and Ben’s story. Ben’s parents left him 2 years ago, so now he doesn’t have a home. He lives with his step-grandma on the weekends, but on weekdays he secretly sleeps in his friends’ houses. When Ben and Charlie discover a letter in the ruins of Ben’s old ruined home, they uncover the Unseen Kingdoms and the Royal Institute of Magic. Ben and Charlie decide to explore this unknown world through the Dragonway, what will they find? I like this book because it is set in a world of magic, and the first chapter is set in the 17th Century. This is the 1st book in a six book series.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by JK Rowling

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth book in the series…nineteen years later. We meet Albus Severus Potter, daughter of Harry and Ginny, who is about to go to Hogwarts for the first time. At Hogwarts, Albus is sorted into Slytherin and makes a new friend, Scorpius who is Draco Malfoy’s son. When Albus overhears a conversation he is not supposed to hear, he sets out to change time to bring someone back. What will he find? I loved this book a lot because of the magic and adventure, but I felt like it didn’t have a lot of J.K Rowling’s voice in it.

Malory Towers by Enid Blyton

The Malory Towers is a series about a girl named Darrell, she goes to boarding school at Malory Towers and is very proud of it. Each book is about her as she moves up in her forms, (there is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th form). Along with her, there are many other girls with her who go up with her in the forms The most important ones are Sally, Gwendoline, Alicia, Bill (, and many more. Sally is Darrell’s best friend, they become friends in the 2nd book. Gwendoline is very feather-headed, she doesn’t care about anything except herself and she is very spoiled, Darrell always tries to put a little sense in her head but it doesn’t always work. Alicia is very smart and clever, she plays tricks on the teachers all the time and can still work hard. Darrell sometimes admires her but other times she doesn’t because Alicia also had a hard, jealous streak. Bill is a girl who grew up with her 7 brothers, as a result, she loves horses and is very boyish. Once, when Bill’s horse was in trouble Darrell helped Bill find help and she stayed with the horse until help came. I like this series because you see the character growing up through the books, and it is a very fun story.
