Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

This wonderfully written second book in the Nevermoor series is full of surprising plot twists and astonishing discoveries. We meet Morrigan Crow once again, now part of Unit 919, now going to school at the Wondrous Society. She’s earned what she most wanted, a family of brothers and sisters, loyal for life. However, when it is announced to her unit that she is a Wundersmith, everyone looks at and behaves differently around her. Then Unit 919 starts getting secret letters to do complicated tasks or else the letter writers will reveal the secret of 919. Will Morrigan Crow finally get what she most wants — a family — or will this new threat ruin her life?

I loved this magical sequel, whose plot twists made me gasp at every chapter. The vivid descriptions of the Wundrous Society and Nevermoor gave me a passage into Morrigan’s world.

  1. I am deeply intrigued by this mysterious story. I would think that Morrigan Crow will finally get a family and be loved and cared for as she wishes. Unit 919 must be able to perform the necessary tasks to make this happen. It would be fantastic to know the actual ending.
